Philippe Schwarz is regarded as one of the most accomplished and innovative euphonium players of his generation. His work as a soloist and educator has earned him a reputation of excellence through the international brass community. Philippe started playing the euphonium at the age of eight at Luxembourg Conservatoire. At the age of 24 while at RNCM, he became the first brass student to gain a 100% score at his final Master's recital, which earned him the Harry Mortimer Memorial Trust 'Brass Student of the Year' award. Apart from performing with some of the best bands in the country and international guest soloist performances all over the world, Philippe's educational work saw him becoming the first specialist euphonium teacher at Luxembourg Conservatoire in 2012. He is also a visiting tutor at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London.
The class offers brass players the chance to perform 1-2 pieces (lasting approximately 5 minutes) that they will enjoy playing for Philippe and the audience. Philippe will offer advice with performance and execution of the music. Numbers are limited, successful applicants will be informed soon after the closing date.
