1. CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES

The closing date for entries is Friday 15th January 2010. 

2. FESTIVAL WEBSITE

In future the syllabus will be available to download from the website in advance of any printed copies being available.  Please use the contact us button or send an email to mail@carlislemusicanddrama.com to register your interest in receiving notification that the syllabus is now ready. 

3. NEW CLASS- CLASS 94b - Orchestra Class - Open

This new class can be entered by any Orchestra of 11 to 40 Performers and any combination of instruments.  The Test Piece is "Own choice not exceeding 10 mins".  The entry fee if £4.50.

4. TROPHY FOR CLASS 94 - Orchestra Class-Junior Schools

A new trophy "The Raymond Thompson Memorial Trophy" has been donated to the Festival by the family of the late Mr Raymond Thompson.  Mr Thompson was a local teacher and Headmaster.  He taught at Stanwix School where he became Deputy Head, and later became Headmaster at Greystone and Pennine Way Schools.  He was heavily involved in the introduction of the recorder into Carlisle Schools.

5.OFFICIAL ACCOMPANIST

If the official accompanist is required you must send a copy of the music to the Music Co-ordinator.  Please put your name and the class number on all the copies.  It would be helpful for the accompanist if you put a metronome mark on the copy.

6.CHILD PROTECTION

the Festival's Child Proptection Policy is included in the Syllabus.  Please ensure that, if applicable, the declaration on the entry forms is signed and dated.

7.ENTRY FORMS

A pdf version and a word version of each syllbus, entry forms, regulations and child protection policy is available to download.  Entries cannot be accepted on-line and must be sent in writing.
